Faraday to T. Smith1   2 March 1840

Royal Institution | 2 March 1840

Sir

All the metals that have been sufficiently examined have proved to be crystalline when solid: but there are some which are so difficult to obtain & so unmanageable that we cannot as yet assert that their crystalline structure has been seen. From what is known we conclude that all the metals in their separate states are crystalline[.]

I am Sir | Your Very Obedient Servant | M. Faraday
