Mr. Sparks takes the liberty to leave with Mr. Faraday a note from Sir Thomas Phillipps2. Mr. Sparks is desirous of procuring permission to examine a collection of manuscripts in the Library of the Royal Institution3, and would be glad to see Mr. Faraday on the subject whenever it shall suit his convenience.

Thomas Phillipps (1792–1872, ODNB): Antiquary and bibliophile.
