William Buckland to Faraday   30 May 1843

Oxford 30 May | 1843

My dear Sir

If you raise the inclosed in a hot bed, & plant the produce in open air, you will probably see drops of oxalic acid secreted on the leaves in a form new to you. These seeds were brought from Athens by Mr W. Calverley Trevelyan1[.] The peas are eaten by the people after being steeped in cold water[.]

Believe me | Yours very Sincerely | Wm Buckland

Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879, DNB). Naturalist.
