Royal Institution | London | 26 April 1844.
Sir
I have been favoured by the receipt of your kind letter inviting me to be present at the meeting of the Scandinavian Naturalists and though I should have enjoyed the honor very much yet circumstances make me quite unable to take advantage of the courtesy & good will thus manifested. But though absent in body I shall be present in thought and hope most fervently that you will have a happy & honorable meeting, delightful to the members & effectual in advancing science[.]
I am Sir | With great respect | Your Obliged & Humble Servant | M. Faraday
Professor Boeck | Secretary | &c &c &c &c
