Jacob Herbert to Faraday   13 June 1844

Trinity House | 13, June 1844.

My dear Sir,

I send you annex'd an extract from a Letter from the Corporation's Superintendent at Milford1,- and shall be obliged by your saying whether you are of opinion that the application of your ventilating Tubes would remedy the excessive Heat in the Lantern of the Smalls Light House, of which complaint is therein made.

I would observe that the Lantern is small and that the whole number of Argand Burners now in it, is Twenty Seven.

I remain, | My dear Sir, | Very faithfully yours | J. Herbert

M. Faraday Esq.

B.H. Bailey. See Trinity House By Board Minutes, 11 June 1844, GL MS 30010/34, pp.126-7 for the request for Faraday to advise.
