I have laid before Secy Sir J. Graham your letter of the 14th instant¹ relative to your proceedings at Haswell; and I am to return Sir J. Graham's thanks to you for the trouble you have taken in this business.

I am to add, Sir J. Graham will be particularly glad to receive your further report², on the means of obviating or guarding against similar accidents for the future, when you have been able fully to consider that most important subject.
