My dear Andrews

I am most happy to hear your news[.] I am sure that both Science & the College & I trust also yourself will be the gainer1[.]

I am working very hard & have not time to mend my pen even. I have just finished my third paper on New Magnetical effects2. When they3 are printed you are sure of a copy & I shall send one perhaps through you to MacCulloch4 in hopes it will move even his mighty engine through since what you have not heard is I am inclined to believe even more important that what you have heard5.
