Royal Institution | 16 March 1846
Sir
I venture to offer the inclosed1 as the most fitting return to you from one whose occupation in life must be the sole motive for your recent and former kindness and I hope you will believe it is accompanied with the unfeigned respect and admiration of one who though he has but few opportunities and no power of judgment in such things cannot but admire that in the government and counsels of the Country which is manifest in its effects[.]
I have the honor to be | Sir | Your very Obliged & faithful Servant | M. Faraday
The Right Honorable | Sir Robert Peel, Bart | &c &c &c
