Isabella Erskine Plummer (d.1881, age 74, GRO). Of independent means (see 1841 census, TNA HO107/675/1/38, p.20) and a subscriber to Faraday’s lectures.
This refers to the gift to the Royal Institution by Plummer of a piece of the oak tree in Rome under which the Italian poet Torquato Tasso (1544–1595, ER) sat. RI MM, 18 May 1846, 9: 390.
