Faraday to James Hudson   3 October 1846

R Institution | 3 Octr. 1846

My dear Sir

I have your note & that of Mr Pusey1. I return you the latter. I am much flattered by the expressions it contains but the time is long gone by when I could assent to the request which it contains[.] The state of my health my researches, my occupations, & my desires are all against it. I have for many years given up an annual fortune that I might follow undisturbed my favo[u]rite pursuits & have leisure for a little rest and my determination to do is in continuance has only grown stronger with my years.

I am My dear Sir | Very Truly Yours | M. Faraday

Jas Hudson Esq

Philip Pusey (1799–1855 ODNB). Agriculturist and MP for Berkshire, 1835–1852.
