My dear Sir,
I have found a card from you respecting Dr Latham1 & it would have given me much pleasure to have given you my vote for him, and indeed if I voted, for I have been already canvassed by an old friend on his behalf, but I seldom ever vote upon these occasions & in this instance from particular circumstances with which I need not trouble you, I have decided upon remaining neuter - as oddly enough I ought to vote for both Candidates!!-
