My dear Sir

I hope that Miss Ellen [Barnard] has been a good expounder and advocate & banker on my behalf to you - and trusting to that I now say that I have had such written answers to my enquiries as almost ensure that the case is a good & honest one so that I conclude that three young women of the name of Faraday² are living at No. 20 Hill Street in Toxteth Park, having the house, who being pressed in circumstances are honest steady & industrious. If you would cause the £5 to be paid over to them either by sending for one of them or in any way you think it fit it would greatly oblige yours most Truly
