Faraday to George Lyon   28 December 18461

Royal Institution | 28 Decr. 1846

My dear Sir

I hope that Miss Ellen [Barnard] has been a good expounder and advocate & banker on my behalf to you - and trusting to that I now say that I have had such written answers to my enquiries as almost ensure that the case is a good & honest one so that I conclude that three young women of the name of Faraday2 are living at No. 20 Hill Street in Toxteth Park, having the house, who being pressed in circumstances are honest steady & industrious. If you would cause the £5 to be paid over to them either by sending for one of them or in any way you think it fit it would greatly oblige yours most Truly

M. Faraday
