My dear Sir

As I fear the British Assocn will not be able to detain you long in Oxford I am anxious to secure your company betimes and as I am told your lecture will take place on Friday evening the 25th Inst1 I hope I may have the pleasure of your company at dinner on that day previously to the soireè.
