Within the last hour I have received from His Excellency the Baron de Cetto2 your letter3 and the diploma which accompanied it. The honor which the Academy has done me is far above my deserts; but whatever power there remains in me shall be used in the endeavour to render myself henceforth worthy of standing in such companionship as that presented by the ranks of the Academy.
