Sir,

I am directed by the Elder Brethren to transmit to you the annex'd Copy1 of a Letter from Mr. Wilkins on the Subject of a New Cowl which he considers is required for the Service of the Usk Light House in connection with the proper action of the Ventilating Apparatus now in course of fitment at that Light Establishment. And to acquaint you that Mr. Wilkins has been refer'd to you for directions upon this subject.

The Elder Brethren will accordingly be obliged by your instructions being given to Mr. Wilkins to fit such a cowl as he may propose at the Usk Light House, should you approve thereof - or by your furnishing him with any Suggestions for its' modification or improvement that you may consider needful.
