I beg to return you my sincere thanks for the favour of an admission to the Lectures at the College of Surgeons3[.] I hope to profit by some of them though the appointed days & hours are in very frequent collision with my duties here & at Woolwich4[.]

This was a set of twenty four lectures by Richard Owen on the “Generation and Development of Animals” which commenced on Tuesday 13 March 1849 and continued on succeeding Thursdays, Saturdays and Tuesdays at 4pm. See Lancet, 1849, 1: 247.
That is Faraday’s lectures at the Royal Military Academy.
