My dear Sir

We have a piece of old iron shafting on our lathe at the present moment, and it has struck me that you might possibly like it to be cut in the centre, so as to enable you to build up a horse shoe magnet accurately - the present dimensions are -

and I may probably come across a piece of old iron I could shape for the bend or junction of the horse shoe.
