My dear friend

I had your kind note and also the one from the Lodging Committee1 which I gave to M. Dumas & as he was about to write I asked him to acknowledge it on my part[.]

I expect we shall leave London on Wednesday2 by the 11 o clk train. De la Beche, Dumas, Barlow & several of us.
