I had hoped to have the honor personally of offering my sincere thanks tomorrow Evening for Your Grace’s kindness in remembering one who is so little known to your Grace but regret to say that circumstances have arisen which preclude even a hope of, at any hour being able to make my appearance for the performance of that most agreeable duty2[.]
