Dear Sir,

I am instructed to transmit to you the accompanying Extracts from Two Letters of Mr. William Wilkins, and from a Report of a Committee who have recently visited Cromer Light House1, on the subject of the ventilation of the Lantern thereof; and to request you will favor the Elder Brethren by communicating your opinion upon the suggestions, for it’s improvement, contained in the said Extracts, and what objections (if any) exist to their being carried into effect.
