Faraday to Mary Fox   12 January 18541

Brighton | 12 Jany 1853 [sic]

My dear Lady Fox

We are here for rest - but both of us are confined to the house with very heavy colds. We shall not return from here except just in time to prepare for & give the Friday Evening (the 20th)2 so that I do not think I can make any engagement before Monday the 23rd. Then if you will give your friend a note (you did not mention his name) he can call on me but pray do not give yourself the least personal trouble in the matter. Trusting that you & Sir Charles are well - which we really are not

I am | My dear Lady Fox | Yours Very Truly | M. Faraday

Dated on the basis of the reference to the Friday Evening Discourse.
