Dear Faraday

I perceive by the papers that my name is in the list of Knights; and that you are our worthy general2. Should I write to any one to return thanks and if so to whom? I am here quite out of the world and have no means of knowing what others have done, will you therefore kindly let me know what is right and proper[.]
