Dear Sir,

I have received an intimation from the Secretary of the National Gallery Site Commission1 that it has been considered desirable you should have an opportunity of examining the surfaces of Works of Sculptures in the British Museum, and I beg to assure you that I shall be happy to afford you every facility in my power whenever it may be most convenient for you to pursue your investigations.
