I have received an intimation from the Secretary of the National Gallery Site Commission¹ that it has been considered desirable you should have an opportunity of examining the surfaces of Works of Sculptures in the British Museum, and I beg to assure you that I shall be happy to afford you every facility in my power whenever it may be most convenient for you to pursue your investigations.
