Faraday to Frederick Augustus Abel1   17 March 1858

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | W | 17 March 1858.

My dear Mr Abel

Our librarian Mr. Vincent was applying to Mr. Noad to enquire about a situation for his son2 as chemical assistant or operative and Mr Noad expressed his regret that he had not known sooner as he had had occasion to recommend such a person to you. This causes me to write and say that if you have any opportunity of helping young Mr Vincent either now or hereafter it will much oblige me as well as his father[.] The Young man worked at the College of Chemistry where perhaps you have seen him & he has been employed in analysis &c in a large Soda & acid works at Widness docks so that I expect he had now added practical experience to his theoretical knowledge3.

Ever | Very Truly Yours | M. Faraday
