My dear Sir
I find the minute of the Board requesting you to treat Major Fitz-Maurice’s communications with strict confidence has not been carried out, - I have therefore thought it most advisable with reference to our conversation yesterday, to send you the accompanying Letter1 informing you of it,- and any observations you may think it right to offer will take their place in due sequence-
Always most faithfully yours | George Herbert

P.S. I will forward you the Copy of your Letter of the 21st ult.2 to the Board, on Monday.
