Sir,

I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade, to acquaint you that Her Majesty’s Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to you the sum of One hundred Pounds (£100) for your services in connection with the examination of Lighting apparatus for Colonial Lighthouses in accordance with the arrangement specified in my letter of the 29th February 18563.

Enclosed is a form of receipt which upon being stamped and signed by you can be presented for payment at the Office of Her Majesty’s Paymaster General through a Banker.
