George Biddell Airy to Faraday   19 November 1859

1859 November 19

My dear Sir

In various regards I should like the time of a proposed lecture1 to be well delayed, first for my personal comfort, secondly because our Observatory wires are almost inefficient [sic].

Moreover I should be much obliged if you would treat me as a masked battery & not publish me for some time.

I am, my dear Sir, | Yours most truly | G.B. Airy

Professor Faraday
