I am directed by the elder Brethren to forward to you the accompanying Copy of a Letter from the “Lime Light Company”¹ proposing to try the effect of that system of producing Light in one of this Corporation’s Light Houses, - and I am to request that you will favor the Elder Brethren with any observations or suggestions on the subject, which may occur to you as useful in the consideration of this Proposal.-
