Dear Sir

Referring to your Letter of the 7th Ult1:- I am directed to acquaint you, that, in compliance with your Suggestion, it is proposed to cause the Ventilation Head, or Windguard, to be applied to the two New Lanterns intended to be erected at the Portland Light Houses2.- I am also to forward, for your information, the enclosed Copy of a Report from the Agent for the Whitby Light Houses3; at which Station the Windguard was fitted in Novr. 1858.
