Had the lamp at the North lighthouse at Whitby been adjusted before our survey of matters on the 9th instant? or was it as you left it originally and as it was when the Astronomer Royal saw it?1 Were you with him there? and what was the judgment regarding the upper reflectors formed from observation within the lanthorn at that time?
