William George Armstrong1 to Faraday   5 March 1861

9 Hyde Park Street. W. | 5 March 1861

My dear Mr Faraday

I am unfortunately laid up to day with Influenza & I fear there is not much chance of my being in a condition to go through the Gun Factory tomorrow2. I am very sorry to have to defer the pleasure of accompanying you but I trust we shall be able to fix another & an early day for this purpose. I will give you a call at the institution in the course of the week to ascertain what day will suit you[.]

Believe me | Very sincerely yours | W.G. Armstrong

William George Armstrong (1810–1900, ODNB). Inventor and industrialist in North-East England.
Armstrong was also Superintendent of the Royal Gun Factory, Woolwich, 1859–1863.
