Robert Gordon to Faraday   24 April 1861

17 Pall Mall | 24th April

My Dear Sir

Chance’s new lamp quite realises all my expectations & I am anxious you should see it –

I left word at the Trinity House yesterday requesting you might be communicated with, in hopes you may be able to fix a day for seeing it -

Chance has also been written to in order to ascertain if he has any objection to its being attended to by our own Lightkeepers -

Believe me | Yours very truly | Robt Gordon

I suppose you can hardly be better pleased with the Report of the “Royal Commission”1 than we were - | RG
