Faraday to Margaret Barnard   27 July 1861

H. Court | 27, July 1861.

My dear Margaret

We have not yet heard any accounts of Jenny [Barnard,] James [Faraday Barnard] & Charlotte [Barnard]1 & that gives me an excuse to write to you with my love - with our love for your aunt & I are one with you & often have a passing word of hope & joy about you. Poor R2 too & her tooth we have been quite grieved to think what she must have suffered. I do not know whether you have news or not I shall be in town tomorrow but your aunt will be here then & on Sabbath day.

Very Affectionately | Your Uncle | M. Faraday

Miss M. Barnard

Address: Miss Margaret Barnard | 12 Compton Terrace | Islington | N.

They were in the Lake District. See letter 4033.
‘Kate’ (presumably Katharine Barnard (1844–1912, GRO), a sister of Jane Barnard’s was crossed out here) and ‘R’ written above; possibly Rachel was intended as she was unwell, see letter 4033.
