Faraday to Charles Manby   5 September 1861

Newcastle on Tyne | 5 Septr. 1861

My dear Mr Manby

I believe that you are nearly right in your general notion of the arrangement at Buckingham Palace but do not know. I was not in the consultations about it but my nephew Mr Faraday1 Gasfitter of Wardour Street did a good deal at the Palace and put up several lamps in the Chapel & elsewhere which were perfectly ventilated according to the Patent my brother2 took out3[.] I however can tell you very little about them or the present state of the ventilation at the Palace[.]

Very many thanks for your kind invitation to the Greys4, I was at Eastbourne about two years ago5 for a while but doubt whether I shall ever see the place again[.]

Ever My dear Sir | Very Truly Yours | M. Faraday

Charles Manby Esqr | &c &c &c
