Faraday to George Biddell Airy   c.18 October 1861

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead]

My dear Sir

When we last communicated about Friday Evenings1 you left me with a strong hope that we might have you here during the coming season. Dr. Bence Jones (our earnest Hon Sec) leaves it to me to ask you whether we may encourage that hope? and further, if you have that intention with respect to us, whether it would suit you to take April 11th the last before Easter - or what other in preference?

I long to hear you in our room2[.]

Ever Yours Truly | M. Faraday

G.B. Airy Esqr | &c &c &c

Endorsed by Airy: About 1861 Oct 18

Letters 4025 and 4027.
Airy did not deliver a Friday Evening Discourse during 1862.
