Faraday to James Timmins Chance   1 February 1862

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | 1 Feby 1862

My dear Mr Chance

It is wished that I should do what I think right (the D.M.1 would rather not deal by formal proceedings) so I write & thank you heartily for your letter2[.]

In consequence thereof I send you a copy of my first rough proposed changes I have numbered the paragraphs that you may refer to them without sending the paper back & I send you a couple of loose copies of the Specification3. Par 11 or 10 is the one which is thought to want altering the words “proper curves & angles” being thought too indefinite. The queries at 7. 14. 18 I submit to your Judgment - likewise those at 20 & 21.

Ever Truly Yours | M. Faraday
