Faraday to Benjamin Vincent   9 October 18621

10 o clk P.M. | Thursday Evening.

My dear friend

I enclose the 10/- for the Porters[.]

I am here for the purpose of going in the Morning to Birmingham to examine an apparatus which must go quickly to Guernsey. I do not feel very well fitted for it - but hope to get on - & return on Saturday morning2. I hope a nights rest will cause me to feel different and able to say more than I can say now[.]

Ever Affectionately Yours | M. Faraday

Mr Vincent

Watermark: 1859

Dated on the basis that Faraday, the following day, went to inspect the Hanois lighthouse apparatus at Chance’s glassworks in Birmingham. See letter 4230.
That is 11 October 1862.
