My dear Sir
I have just received your note1 for which I give you many thanks.
On Saturday I reported the results of the examination2. Favourably as you may suppose[.]
I have already written to Mr Wilkins & his parties for their data and last week I made certain rough observations at the Trinity house[.] When I have the French answer I shall be able to judge of things[.] In the mean time many thanks for your data[.]
