1Faraday to William Jackson Hooker2   11 November 1862

11 Novr. 1862

My dear Sir William

The enclosed note will explain itself. The friend who asks me the favour is the Revd. Mr. Cummin[s], and both he & the Negro Clergyman are very worthy,- if the matter itself is proper[.]

Shall I tell him that the request is irregular & not to be made? or give him an introduction to you at the Gardens? or in any other way advance or retard his desire?

Ever My dear Sir William | Your Very Obliged Servant | M. Faraday

Sir Wm. Hooker Bart | &c &c &c
