Faraday to Edward William Cooke   1 January 18631

Royal Institution | 1 Jany 1863

My dear Mr. Cooke

Tho’ I have let the days run on into the new Year do not scold me - There cannot be a better day on which to wish you & yours a Happy new year and every blessing that is given to Man as his right. You make so much happiness to others by your continued & spontaneous kindness that all must wish it for you. I thank you strongly for the palm stick. I like it the more because I know the palm is a pleasure & a glory to you. May you flourish like it & cheer even the waste places when they come within the course of your life. All with me join in kindest remembrances[.]

Ever Yours | M. Faraday
