1Faraday to Charles Locock2   17 March 1863

R Institution | 17 Mar 1863.

My dear Sir Charles

A Gentleman (Dr. Evans3) brought me a note from you a week ago at a moment when I was deeply engaged & could not see him or read your note[.] He has not called since & his card has no address upon it. I do not know that I could be of any use to him for I have declined entering upon telegraphic communications or commercial communications generally but if I had known how or where to address him should have acknowledged his call[.]

Ever Very Truly Yours | M. Faraday

Sir Chas. Locock | &c &c &c
