My dear Mr. Crookes
Before I left town on Saturday1 I left your Thallium & a note with our messenger to be delivered carefully to you & I hope you received the treasure all safe. To day I have just received your kind letter2 here - tomorrow I shall be in town & next Monday shall at the Meeting of Managers deliver your present & read your letter3. I hope you have not been too liberal of your light discovered metal - for as specimens from the original discoverer will always as now very valuable so you will want all that you have.
