Syon | Brentford | 29 June 1863
My dear Sir,
As I hope you will visit Newcastle, this year at the meeting of the British Association I must invite you to Alnwick Castle; which will probably be after the meeting of the British Association as our distance from Newcastle is too great, to make daily visits there, convenient. but when the meeting is over, & you are comparatively idle I hope you will allow the Duchess1 & me the pleasure of keeping you for a week, or ten days. Our party will be small & I think, composed of your friends.
Yours truly | Northumberland
M. Faraday Esqr
