My dear Dr. Jones
We have had rather a melancholy time of it here, I felt it was almost more than Mr Faraday was equal to going up to London on Monday & exerting himself, & now he is going again tomorrow & will not be willing to allow Jane to go with him, so I write to you as a kind friend, that in case you are at liberty you should look in upon him & accidently cheer him up a little on Saturday1[.]
I have not been very well either so it is more difficult to keep up - the weather is not cheering & we intend being at home in a few days[.]
Believe me My dear Dr | Yours very sincerely | S. Faraday
