[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | Evening of Monday | 4th July 1864.
To George & Emily
Dear friends
We hope the purpose of our joint address will commend itself to you with the time and other circumstances. We wish you all happiness and desiring to be often remembered by you hereafter hope you will accept a few utilities that they may recall us to your thoughts in the course of those happy hours that we trust await you. May you be blessed in your union with all the comforts and joys that are granted to the wedded state. May you, whilst thinking of those who have gone before you prove examples of happiness and honour to such as may follow in your steps:- reallizing [sic] all the comforts, and distinctions with which it has pleased God to bless the married state.
