Faraday to Benjamin Vincent   16 December 1864

Clyde House | Black Lion Street - Brighton | Friday1 16, Decr. 1864.

My dear friend

Here is Thursday & though our decisions are not finally made I feel as if I ought to write to you as the one central friend.

We feel as if the place had done us so much general good that we should stop here until the middle of next week provided as Dr. Frankland says, all goes on well but a little urging from you will bring us home at once. My hands are & my head is unsteady but my feet are firm & getting firmer.

No money is wanted for wages &c - that I know of; but if there should be need of some you probably can advance it.

Give our dearest love to our true friends, I hope to see them soon. Mrs. Buchanan is nicely from day to day, better than I expected to see her. She goes out with us in a fly frequently - as also walking. The news you send us is very acceptable but I forget it - our own correspondant will speak of it. I am very very glad to think that peace is with you - I hope the peace which passeth all understanding2 - I do even hope to share it with you. I think I am wandering a little but still I am as ever yours truly

M. Faraday

Mr. B. Vincent.
