My dear Sir
I received yesterday the second copy of the photograph1 & I beg leave to thank you for it and to keep it for it has I think your writing on it which I value very much. Yet to keep them both is more than I ought to do; so though I have written on the first I return it to you[.]
Please give my respects & compliments to Sir John & also to Lady Herschel2 they are very sincere on my part though I have an unusual way of showing it but what can a man do who remembers nothing rightly[.]
Ever My dear Mr. Herschell | Yours most truly | M. Faraday
