Faraday to Henry Bence Jones   7 March 18651

Hampton Court | 7 March 1864 [sic].

My dear Dr. Bence Jones

I would not have a word altered of that which marks so truly the kindness of the Managers & yourself and I would say as little as possible to hide in any way that kindness from myself. Believe that I thank you for the great continuance of it:- and thank them from me. I still live in hopes that I may occasionally deserve the continuance of it though I know not how2.

Ever Most truly Yours | M. Faraday

Endorsement: Postmark 1865

This letter is black-edged, possibly because of the death of the Duke of Northumberland on 12 February 1865.
