John Tyndall to Faraday   6 April 1865

Dublin Thursday, 6th, April. 1865

My dear Mr Faraday

Forgive me for not saying good bye to you before I came away. I have been much worried of late, and have come over here to have a run to strengthen my nerves and enable them to bear worry. One gets sadly weakened in London, and both you and I when thus weakened are, I fear, far too sensitive for our own happiness. Hirst1 and I go to day to Belfast and thence tomorrow to the Giant’s Causeway. We afterwards mean to work along the coast to Galway; and perhaps further south -- returning to London I trust about the 25th. Give my kindest regards to Mrs Faraday and Miss Barnard.

Yours very affectionately | John Tyndall

Post office | Londonderry | Ireland | up to Tuesday 11th April.

Thomas Archer Hirst (1830–1892, ODNB). Taught mathematics at Queenwood School.
