Faraday to Frederick Gye   8 April 1865

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | 8 April 1865.

My dear Sir

My call on you yesterday was not to disturb you but to apologize for my note of a day or two before1 when I counted so surely on your kindness;- for I could not come to your glorious place2 at the last minute I was prevented[.] My friends that went were delighted: for them, and for myself I thank you most heartily[.]

Ever Yours | M. Faraday
